Judith Beck Formulation
The Judith Beck style formulation is a cognitive behavioral case formulation diagram adapted from Judith Beck's approach. It combines a longitudinal and cross-sectional approach. Information about events in childhood (typically adverse events) is used to inform core beliefs (schemas). Conditional assumptions and coping behaviors are also collected. This longitudinal information is used to inform the client's reactions in here-and-now situations.
